The Mechanical Design Engineer will take ownership of projects from concept through to production, working closely with engineers, scientists, suppliers, and external partners. The role is hands-on, fast-paced, and central to ongoing innovation and new product development activities. The company can offer a competitive salary and a range of benefits.Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Development & Engineering ProjectsDesign new products and develop innovative engineering solutionsLead and support New Product Development (NPD) and product improvement projectsLead Engineering Change Request (ECR) activitiesPlan, cost, and manage projects including timelines and budgetsCompile and present project updates to stakeholdersDesign & Technical DeliveryProduce high-quality 3D CAD models, assemblies, drawings, and documentation using SolidWorksIdentify, evaluate, and integrate mechanical and electronic componentsSource materials and parts, managing supplier risk and availabilityEstablish test protocols, analyse results, and report findingsPrepare and maintain documentation including BOMs, production packs, instructions, and QA/testing proceduresCollaboration & CommunicationWork closely with suppliers, consultants, and external partnersPresent design decisions and technical outcomes clearly to the wider teamExperience & SkillsDegree in Mechanical or Electromechanical EngineeringMinimum 5 years experience in an industrial or R&D environmentProven track record of taking products from concept into manufactureStrong CAD experience with SolidWorksKnowledge of manufacturing processes and materialsExperience working with suppliersAbility to work independently and take ownership of workPersonal AttributesProactive, organised, and detail-focusedConfident communicatorComfortable working hands-on with prototypes, assemblies, and testingStrong sense of ownership and follow-throughSounds good, how do I apply? xjdpvnf Option 1: Click the apply button, don't worry if you don't have an up-to-date CV, we can discuss whatever you have to hand.Option 2: Find Alexander Donnelly on LinkedIn and drop me a message or connection request
