This is a field-based Electromechanical Field Service Engineer role, focused on Healthcare equipment. The position covers installation, servicing, repairs, and upgrades of medical devices across the Midlands and South East of England , with occasional travel to other UK regions or Europe. The ideal home location is within about 20 miles of Luton. The engineer will work independently in the field, supporting customers across hospitals, clinics, and private practices. While the initial focus is on medical imaging and ophthalmic systems, the role may expand to other technical disciplines as further training is provided. The role suits someone with a strong practical engineering background-ideally with experience in electrical, electronic, or software systems -who enjoys varied, hands-on work, problem-solving, and delivering excellent service on-site. A professional, methodical, and customer-focused approach is essential, along with good communication and organisation skills. Working hours are 45 per week (Monday-Friday) , with 1 in 4 Saturdays on rotation. Flexibility for early starts, late finishes, and travel is sometimes required. Key Responsibilities Install, service, upgrade, and repair medical and ophthalmic equipment. Diagnose faults methodically and liaise effectively with customers. Complete service documentation and system updates accurately. Maintain vehicle stock and manage parts returns compliantly. Follow all health, safety, and quality standards. Support colleagues and work flexibly across regions when needed. Skills & Experience Engineering background in medical, electronic, or electromechanical fields. Experience with ultrasound or ophthalmic equipment advantageous. Strong customer service and communication skills. Organised, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
