Technical Services Manager Location: GL7 Salary: 38,000 - 45,000 per annum Type: Permanent, Full-time Are you an experienced leader in mechanical or HVAC systems looking for your next challenge or someone looking for a step-up to their next challenge? Hays is recruiting for a Technical Services Manager to join a dynamic team delivering facilities management and maintenance services on a high-profile estate. What you'll do: Lead and supervise a team of Maintenance Engineers delivering planned and reactive maintenance on mechanical systems, plant, and equipment. Develop and implement maintenance programmes aligned with strategic objectives. Manage external contractors and ensure compliance with contractual KPIs and professional standards. Act as Duty Holder/Authorised Person for relevant disciplines, ensuring compliance with statutory health and safety legislation. Drive continuous improvement in maintenance standards, risk assessments, and safe systems of work. Support team development, performance reviews, and foster a positive, high-performing culture. What you'll bring: Formal Mechanical, Electrical, or HVAC qualifications (multi-skilled preferred). Strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements (COSHH, RIDDOR). Proven experience managing large engineering teams and contractors. Full UK driving licence and ability to obtain SC-level security clearance. Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills. Desirable: Experience with mechanical/HVAC assets in commercial environments. Accredited First Aid or Health & Safety qualifications. Membership of a relevant professional body. Previous MOD experience or existing SC clearance.
