About the CompanyThe following information aims to provide potential candidates with a better understanding of the requirements for this role.We are seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to support the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of a highly regulated COMAH chemical manufacturing site.The Mechanical Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of mechanical assets and utilities within a COMAH environment.ResponsibilitiesCarry out planned preventative maintenance and manage work orders via SAP CMMS.Respond to breakdowns, diagnose mechanical faults, and restore equipment efficiently.Maintain mechanical assets, site utilities, and critical equipment including steam boilers, purified water systems, cooling towers, fire pumps, and deluge systems.Work safely under permit-to-work systems (hot work, confined space, critical lifts, excavation).Support cleanroom maintenance, calibration, and performance checks.Update engineering drawings, SOPs, manuals, and maintenance records.Participate in equipment qualification and small engineering improvement projects.Ensure all work complies with GMP, COMAH, and ATEX requirements and is fully documented.Collaborate with engineering, operations, and quality teams to maintain compliance and site safety.Participate in a 1-in-6 on-call rota for out-of-hours breakdown support.QualificationsNVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering.Experience working in a COMAH environment.CompEx EX11 Mechanical (desirable).Confined Space, Mechanical Jointing (M&B), IPAF/MEWP, and FLT certifications.Required SkillsStrong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.Experience with SAP CMMS or similar systems.Ability to interpret and update engineering drawings.High attention to detail and strong documentation standards.Confident supporting audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance. xjdpvnf Preferred SkillsHands-on exposure to critical utilities and ATEX equipment.SalaryCompetitive salary - (30,000 - 35,000)No Sponsorship is available for this position
