This role is critical to ensuring the efficient handling, storage, and movement of steel and aluminium products while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and productivity.The ideal candidate will have proven experience in warehouse management or workshop management, with strong leadership skills and the ability to drive operational improvements.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the day-to-day operations of the warehouse and associated workshop activitiesLead, motivate, and develop warehouse operatives, supervisors, and support staffPlan and control stock levels, goods in/out, and inventory accuracyEnsure efficient workflow, space utilisation, and resource planningOversee loading, unloading, storage, and dispatch of materialsImplement and maintain safe systems of work in line with H&S regulationsMonitor performance against KPIs, identifying and delivering improvementsCoordinate with production, logistics, and management teams to meet business demandsMaintain equipment, forklifts, and handling machinery, ensuring compliance and servicingDrive continuous improvement initiatives across warehouse and workshop processesSkills & Experience RequiredProven experience as a Warehouse Manager, Workshop Manager, or similar operational roleExperience within manufacturing, engineering, metals, or industrial environments preferredStrong people management and leadership xjdpvnf skillsGood working knowledge of health & safety legislation and best practiceExperience managing stock control systems and operational reportingAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlinesStrong organisational, planning, and problem-solving skillsForklift or material-handling experience desirable (certifications advantageous)Personal AttributesHands-on and operationally focusedConfident decision-maker with a proactive approachStrong communicator at all levelsCommitted to quality, safety, and continuous improvement
