With 14 world-class facilities located around the globe, Orchid continues to provide others an opportunity to live a better life through the products, services, and the way the company conducts business.Their Sheffield facility, based off the Sheffield Parkway, comprises a Forge, Foundry, and CNC Machining and Finishing processes. It employs approximately 230 people and focuses on joint reconstruction, in particular, knee and hip joints, and also the instruments required to fit the medical device parts.The RoleAs Engineering Manager, youll set the strategy and technical direction for the site, supporting internal teams, customers, and suppliers to ensure alignment with business goals. This key leadership role sits within the Senior Management Team and calls for a confident, technically astute leader who can inspire, challenge, and guide highly skilled teams while overseeing all aspects of the Engineering function, including Process Engineering, Metallurgy, NPI, Machining, Toolroom, and Laboratory operations.Key responsibilities include:Leading and developing the Engineering team to deliver new products, support production, and drive process improvementManaging engineering resources and budgets to meet departmental and project objectivesWorking closely with customers to understand requirements and deliver cost-effective, on-time solutionsOverseeing the full NPI process, from risk assessment through to stage-gate reviews and documentationIdentifying and implementing process improvements through new technologies and equipmentCollaborating with Commercial, Production, and Quality teams to ensure seamless project delivery and continuous improvementThe PersonWere looking for a confident, hands-on Engineering Manager who can inspire a team while maintaining a strong focus on technical excellence and delivery.A degree or recognised apprenticeship in an engineering disciplineProven experience leading a multi-disciplinary engineering teamA strong track record in NPI project managementSolid experience in manufacturing, ideally within casting or forgingExposure to regulated industries such as medical, aerospace, or automotiveExcellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to operate at both strategic and operational levelsIf this sounds like your next challenge, apply now or contact Ian Bruce for a confidential conversation.About ElevationElevation Recruitment Group is a specialist consultancy helping people build successful, long-term careers.
