We’re partnering with a well-established engineering and manufacturing organisation that supports critical, specialist equipment used in demanding environments. Due to continued growth, they’re looking to add an experienced Workshop Plant Technician to their workshop team.The roleYou’ll be responsible for the diagnosis, servicing, strip-down, rebuild and testing of heavy plant and specialist equipment, ensuring all work is completed to the highest quality and safety standards.This is a hands-on workshop role, suited to someone who enjoys technical problem-solving, structured processes, and working with complex mechanical systems.Key responsibilitiesDiagnose, service and repair heavy plant and specialist equipmentStrip units and assess individual components for fitness for purposeEvaluate parts availability and commercial viability before work beginsComplete job cards and identify additional parts or BOM requirementsRebuild equipment in line with manufacturer specifications and work instructionsTest completed units to OEM standardsReport faults and issues to the Workshop SupervisorMaintain high standards of quality, efficiency and safety at all timesAccurately complete all job cards, production tracking and QHSE documentationAdhere to schedules, procedures and health 'safety requirementsWhat we’re looking forProven experience repairing and maintaining military vehicles, heavy plant or similar specialist equipmentEngine and transmission strip-down and rebuild experience (highly desirable)Strong attention to detail and methodical approach to workGood written and verbal communication skillsComfortable using MS Office (particularly Excel) or willing to learnAble to work under pressure and manage multiple tasksSolid understanding of QHSE legislationFull, valid driving licenceA positive, professional attitude and willingness to learnWhy apply?Stable, long-term opportunity within a specialist engineering environmentWork on technically interesting, non-routine equipmentStructured workshop processes with a strong focus on quality and safetySupportive team and clear reporting lines
