Senior Python Developer – Multi-Billion Dollar Hedge Fund - Mortgage Technology - London - Hybrid – Up to £300k TCMy client, a leading UK hedge fund with $70 billion in AUM, is seeking to appoint a Senior Python Developer within its technology organisation. Our client is undertaking one of the largest infrastructure modernisation programmes in UK financial services and is expanding its engineering capability across key investment areas, including its fast-growing mortgage platform.This role sits within a business-facing engineering team that builds high-impact tools used daily by investment, risk, finance, and operations. You will play a pivotal role as the firm continues its migration away from legacy systems and enhances its bespoke internal platforms.The RoleAs a Business Engineering Developer, you will:Build, enhance, and maintain applications supporting mortgage origination, valuation, analytics, and reporting.Develop production-ready Python code to automate manual processes and streamline workflows.Engage directly with business users to capture requirements and deliver scalable, pragmatic engineering solutions.Support and extend tools within a ring-fenced legacy environment while aligning new development with next-gen architecture.Identify and deliver automation opportunities across data pipelines, reporting frameworks, and analytical tooling.Collaborate with engineering teams involved in wider transformation initiatives.About the Client TeamOur client’s Engineering group partners closely with investments, risk, finance, and operations.
