Aviation Field Service Engineer Location: Southampton Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm Salary: 55,000 per annum (Negotiable depending on experience) Excellent Benefits Purpose of the job Become highly knowledgeable in the specifications, capabilities, and operation of Garmin avionic products, and provide technical support on Garmin products to customers and distributors. Key Duties; Answer technical inquiries regarding Garmin products via telephone, email, and letters concerning operational, troubleshooting and avionics installation related issues. Receive and answer customer inquiries and requests regarding products, orders, pricing and other services offered. Work with customers to determine which products, accessories and plan of action best serve their individual needs. Arrange, with liaison with a services team, repairs and exchanges for customers and distributors. Remain current on changes in policies, procedures, and product offerings. Act as liaison between customer and associates of other departments within Garmin. Develop and maintain department and company image and philosophy to the public. Be highly knowledgeable in the specifications, capabilities and operation of Garmin products. Monitor, document and report failure trends in Garmin equipment. Identify and recommend improvements in Garmin products, documentation and procedures. Review special circumstances and authorize warranty service when deemed appropriate. Provide guidance on regulatory topics concerning various equipment and aircraft operations under EASA/CAA/FAA regulations. Ability to be on a rotation for 24/7 aviation technical support coverage. Provide fielded on-site customer support as directed. Provide support as directed by your management team. Accept and complete projects and other miscellaneous Aviation Support duties as assigned. Represent Garmin at industry and professional meetings, conferences, and trade shows as required. Willingness to participate and potentially lead technical training events as agreed with your management team.
