A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Production Design Support Engineer to join a specialist engineering department to support the delivery of complex engineered products from design into manufacture and through-life support.This role performs the duties of production-facing engineering support and technical issue resolution, working closely with manufacturing teams and reporting into senior engineering leadership.Key Responsibilities:Act as the first point of contact within the manufacturing facility for production design and build-related technical queriesGather shop-floor data, run investigations and coordinate technical responses with remotely located design teamsEstablish and maintain effective tracking and control of production design queries to ensure timely resolutionUtilise engineering toolsets such as PLM systems and ERP tools to locate, manage and communicate design and build dataProvide guidance to manufacturing teams on deviations from the approved design baseline, considering quality and compliance impactsApply formal root cause analysis and structured problem-solving methodologies to identify corrective actionsGather and present technical evidence from the production environment to support design decisionsLead technical progress and review meetings with project teams and, where applicable, suppliersRaise and manage work packages with design teams to implement corrective actions, monitoring cost and delivery impactThe ideal candidate would have:Experience working across multiple engineering disciplines such as systems, mechanical, electrical, electronics or softwareA structured and methodical approach to diagnosing faults and failures in a manufacturing environmentA good understanding of quality management systems and configuration controlExperience working with PLM tools, build structures and supporting technical documentationThe ability to communicate technical manufacturing and design information clearly to remote stakeholdersA proactive mindset, able to form ad-hoc technical teams to resolve short-term production issuesThe ideal candidate must have:Experience as a product design engineer, production support engineer, design authority, architect or senior technicianInvolvement across the product lifecycle, including design transfer into manufacturingHands-on experience supporting manufacturing or production environmentsFormal further education to Level 4 (HNC or equivalent) in a relevant discipline with suitable industry experience, or a BEng / BSc in an engineering or technical subjectThis position offers a lucrative benefits package, which includes but is not inclusive of:Bonus scheme (based on company performance)Annual pay reviews and promotion reviews (based on personal performance)Overtime paid at an enhanced rateFlexi-Leave (of up to 15 days)Pension scheme (total contribution of up to 14%)Subsidised site facilities and restaurantsFree parkingExcellent career progression and training / career development opportunitiesIf this role looks like your next challenge, please contact Keelan ASAP or apply via this advert!Please note that due to the nature of the client’s business, only candidates who currently hold full British Citizenship (without limitations) / Dual Nationality (inclusive of British Citizenship) will be considered.We endeavour to reply to every candidate, every time but if you haven’t heard back within 10 days, please understand that you have unfortunately been unsuccessful for this position, or the position has been filled.
