Senior Penetration Tester - UK remote - £70,000 - £90,000Financial Services Opus are working with a leading financial services institution that are expanding its internal Penetration Testing function and is seeking an experienced Senior Penetration Tester. This is an opportunity to join a growing, highly skilled team responsible for delivering high impact security testing across complex, regulated environments.You'll be responsible for planning and executing penetration tests across infrastructure, applications, cloud environments, and internal systems, with a strong emphasis on financial‑grade security controls. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in technically challenging environments and wants to contribute to the continuous improvement of a mature security programme.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver high‑quality penetration tests across infrastructure, web applications, APIs, cloud platforms, and internal systemsLead and scope complex testing engagements, ensuring alignment with regulatory and internal security requirementsProvide clear, actionable reporting and remediation guidance to technical and non‑technical stakeholdersSupport threat‑led testing initiatives and contribute to red team or purple team exercises where requiredCollaborate with engineering, architecture, and security teams to improve defensive controls and detection capabilitiesMentor junior testers and contribute to the development of internal methodologies, tooling, and best practicesStay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and offensive security techniques relevant to financial servicesRequired Experience5+ years of penetration testing experience, with significant exposure to financial services environmentsStrong technical expertise across infrastructure, application, and cloud penetration testingExperience working within regulated environments and familiarity with frameworks such as PCI DSS, ISO 27001, NIST, or CBEST/TIBERAbility to communicate complex technical findings clearly and confidently to senior stakeholdersHands‑on experience with common offensive security tools, custom tooling, and manual testing techniquesRelevant certifications such as CCT INF, CRT, OSCP, OSCE, CRTO, or equivalent (highly desirable)What’s on OfferOpportunity to join a growing, well funded security function within a leading financial institutionExposure to complex, large scale environments and high impact testing engagementsStrong career progression pathways, including leadership, red team, or specialist technical tracksCompetitive salary, benefits, and professional development support
