Our technologies enhance efficiency and productivity in manufacturing, and our team of mechatronics engineers delivers robust, easy‑to‑use solutions that make robot adoption easier and faster.Role overviewAs a Mechatronics Engineer, you will execute technical designs and tasks under the guidance of the Lead Mechatronics Engineer. Your focus will be on delivering high‑quality mechanical, electrical, and control solutions for robotic applications. While you won’t make strategic design decisions, you will play a critical role in implementing approved designs, ensuring accuracy, and supporting commissioning activities.Key responsibilitiesDesign & implementationDevelop robot applications in CAD based on approved designs; create mechanical layouts and assemblies.Build and maintain simulation models to validate feasibility and cycle times.Implement electrical designs: wiring, panel assembly, and component integration.Program industrial devices (PLCs, sensors, vision systems) and assist in robot programming under supervision.Prepare and maintain accurate documentation (schematics, BOMs, test reports).Project executionFollow design standards and templates set by the Lead Mechatronics Engineer.Support manufacturing and assembly of equipment; ensure compliance with approved drawings.Assist in on‑site installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.Provide post‑installation support and respond to customer queries as needed.Quality & complianceEnsure work meets safety and quality standards (ISO 10218, ISO 13849).Participate in FAT/SAT and address issues promptly.Maintain version control and adhere to documentation protocols.CollaborationWork closely with the Lead Mechatronics Engineer for technical approvals.Liaise with software engineers and project managers to align tasks with project timelines.What we expect (requirements)Degree or equivalent in Mechatronics/Controls/Robotics/Automation.1+ year of experience in mechatronic systems or industrial automation.Basic proficiency in CAD 'simulation tools.Understanding of electrical systems and safety fundamentals.Exposure to PLC programming and robot integration (training provided).Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.Valid UK driving licence and ability to travel for installations.Nice to haveFamiliarity with robot programming (UR, ABB, FANUC, KUKA).Experience with PLC platforms (Siemens, Allen‑Bradley).Knowledge of Python or Java for automation tasks.Exposure to ROS/ROS2 and version control tools (Git).Success measures (first 6–12 months)Timely and accurate execution of assigned tasks.Compliance with design standards and quality benchmarks.Positive feedback from Lead Mechatronics Engineer and project teams.Demonstrated growth in technical skills, autonomy and delivery of tasks within committed timeframe.What we offerCompetitive salary.Stock options (based on performance).Opportunity to learn and grow under experienced technical leadership.Exposure to cutting‑edge robotics and automation projects.Career progression opportunities as VIKASO scales up.
