This is the jobWe’re on the lookout for a talented Pricing Lead to join our Motor Trading team within the AA’s in-house insurer. In this role, you’ll dive deep into pricing structures and performance data to help shape our Motor Insurance strategy. Your insights will directly influence how we stay competitive while driving profitability. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, using advanced analytics to refine pricing models and identify opportunities for growth. What will I be doing?Monitoring emerging trends and trading performance, providing strategic insights into Loss Ratio to support key business decisions. Supporting commercial planning by delivering analysis for business cases, financial modelling, and forecasting. Collaborating with the Pricing & Development and Underwriting teams to shape pricing strategies that are both compliant and commercially effective. Conducting competitor analysis, using past market trends and future scenario modelling to inform pricing direction. Owning the delivery of regular reporting for internal forums, regulatory bodies, and reinsurers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Mentoring junior analysts, helping to build capability across the pricing team and encouraging cross-training with wider insurance functions. What do I need?Strong numerical skills and a keen eye for detail, with experience working in analytical environments. Confidence using SQL to interrogate large datasets, this is essential for the role. Experience in motor or home pricing insurance products is beneficial, though not required. Familiarity with Willis Towers Watson insurance software is a plus, but not essential. A proven ability to communicate complex information clearly to stakeholders. A proactive approach, with a track record of identifying opportunities and suggesting improvements to working practices. A good understanding of the competitive and regulatory landscape within Personal Lines Pricing. A degree in a numerically focused subject such as Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
