Chartered Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Location: Birmingham or NottinghamEmployment Type: Permanent, Full-timeSalary: £50,000 – £55,000 + benefits & bonusesAbout the Role:We are seeking an experienced Chartered Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a well-established, International Multidisciplinary Consultancy. The selected candidate will have the flexibility to work on a hybrid basis from our client's Nottingham or Birmingham offices. You will work on technically challenging and high-profile Education, Healthcare, Commercial and rail infrastructure projects. Benefits: £50,000 – £55,000 base salaryAnnual bonus schemeFlexible working environmentPrivate medical and dental insuranceGenerous pension schemeCycle-to-work schemeKey Responsibilities:Lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services systemsDevelop mechanical design strategies, concepts, and detailed solutionsUndertake and oversee thermal, comfort, and energy analysis of buildings and spacesPrepare and manage models, drawings, specifications, and reportsCoordinate with internal disciplines, architects, clients, and external stakeholdersEnsure projects are delivered to programme, budget, and quality standardsProvide technical guidance, support, and mentoring to junior engineers and techniciansContribute to design reviews, risk assessments, and technical approvalsSupport sustainability and low-carbon design approaches across projectsKey Requirements:Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with a recognised professional institution (e.g., CIBSE, IMechE)Previous experience in the building services industryProven experience leading projects through concept, detailed design, and delivery stagesStrong experience working on Science, Healthcare and Commercial projects Demonstrable experience working within multidisciplinary design teamsProficiency in AutoCAD and Revit Software is essentialStrong understanding of UK building regulations and design standardsKnowledge of sustainable and low-carbon design principlesStrong communication and stakeholder-management skillsProactive problem-solver with a delivery-focused mindsetIf this role sounds of interest, I’d be happy to discuss it further — please email me at or call 02392603030.
