PKI Applications and Infrastructure EngineerLocation: Corsham (On-site)Working Pattern: Monday to Friday 09:00 – 17:00Salary: £55,000 - £58,000+ excellent company benefits and a YEARLY TAX FRE BONUS Due to the nature of the work you must be a British Sole National (born in the UK) and hold SC Cleared minimum and must be eligible for DV Clearance.NexGen Associates are working with a leading Defence-focused organisation to recruit a PKI Applications and Infrastructure Engineer** to support and maintain high-assurance Public Key Infrastructure environments. This is a predominantly on-site role based in Corsham supporting critical national infrastructure within a secure operational setting.The Role:The PKI Applications and Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance support and enhancement of PKI systems and associated infrastructure. This role spans both software administration and network hardware implementation and is well suited to candidates who enjoy working across virtualised server environments as well as hands-on hardware builds.Working closely with the PKI Operations team you will ensure systems remain secure compliant and operationally resilient within a high-classification environment.Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement structured patching and update plans to maintain system security and complianceAdminister and maintain server infrastructure with a strong focus on VMware environmentsDesign build and configure Windows 11 workstations including Group Policy implementationCreate and execute PowerShell scripts to automate administrative and operational tasksDiagnose and resolve issues across software platforms and network hardwareAssemble configure and re-wire network hardware in line with detailed technical build instructionsMaintain accurate configuration and asset records using JIRAProduce and update technical documentation including work instructions and process reviewsAct as a technical Subject Matter Expert within meetings workshops and operational discussionsEssential Skills and Experience:Minimum of 3 years’ experience in system administration within high-security environmentsProven experience delivering software patching and updates across Microsoft Cisco Catalyst Thales and EJBCA platformsStrong server virtualisation experience including VMware administration and VM creationExperience building and configuring Windows workstations including Group Policies and PowerShell scriptingPractical experience using Linux command line interfacesStrong troubleshooting capability across software and network hardware environmentsAbility to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholdersExperience working in high-classification or government environments with strong security awarenessMust hold SC clearance as a minimum and be eligible for DV clearanceFull UK driving licence and access to own transport due to limited public transport to siteDesirable Experience:Working knowledge of Public Key Infrastructure concepts and certificate managementExperience with Hardware Security Modules including Thales Luna HSMsJIRA asset management and configuration experienceKnowledge of Yubikey configuration and useFamiliarity with SCIDA compliance processesUnderstanding of JSP 440 security policy within high-assurance environmentsWhy Apply?This is a people-first organisation that truly invests in its employees.
