Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer Salary: 45,00055,000 Location: South Cambridgeshire An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Design or Manufacturing Engineer to join a well-established and innovative product development company. The company specialises in the design and development of electro-mechanical scientific instrumentation, taking products from initial concept through to full-scale production. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, leading the transfer of R&D concepts through to manufacturable products as well as factory testing activities. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a real impact by working on cutting-edge R&D projects and optimising concepts for seamless manufacturing. Key Responsibilities: Take R&D concepts to a manufacturable product Ensure designs are optimised for manufacture and assembly (DFM/DFMA) Lead factory acceptance testing 3D CAD design Build and test prototypes Work closely with a cross-functional R&D team across electronics, software, and systems Participate in design reviews, problem-solving sessions and continuous improvement initiatives Skills & Experience Required: Strong background in developing electro-mechanical systems Previous experience in taking a product to manufacture is a must Tooling, jigs and fixture design DFM and DFMA experience 3D CAD design skills Strong understanding of manufacturing techniques Knowledge of semi-automated/automated production lines is advantageous If youre looking to join a business that values creativity, quality and innovation, then apply with a copy of your CV.
