Job Title: Senior Electrical & Power Systems Engineer – Data CentresLocation: London, UKAbout the Role:We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical & Power Systems Engineer to join a leading data centre development team. This is a hands-on, strategic role responsible for the design, implementation, and operational integrity of electrical and power systems across state-of-the-art data centre projects. You will be a key technical authority, ensuring that all electrical infrastructure meets the highest standards of reliability, efficiency, and scalability.Key Responsibilities:Lead the design, review, and delivery of electrical and power systems for new build and expansion data centre projects.Develop power distribution architectures, including HV/LV design, UPS systems, generators, switchgear, and power monitoring solutions.Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE, BS, EN) and regulatory requirements.Conduct feasibility studies, load flow analysis, short-circuit studies, and fault level calculations to optimise system performance.Collaborate closely with civil, mechanical, and IT engineering teams to integrate electrical infrastructure seamlessly.Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers, contractors, and consultants.Support procurement processes by reviewing technical specifications, equipment selection, and vendor proposals.Conduct site inspections, testing, commissioning, and handover to operations teams.Drive continuous improvement initiatives for electrical reliability, energy efficiency, and resilience.Required Skills & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.Minimum 8–10 years of experience in electrical engineering, with at least 5 years in data centre or critical power infrastructure.Strong knowledge of high and low voltage electrical systems, UPS, generators, switchgear, and battery storage.Experience in power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, SKM, PowerFactory) and AutoCAD or Revit.Proven track record of delivering complex data centre projects from concept to commissioning.Excellent project management, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.Knowledge of sustainability practices and energy efficiency initiatives in critical facilities is a plus.
