Site Manager – Electrical EngineeringLocation: Staffordshire Office/UK Client Sites (Nationwide Travel Required)Sector: Energy / Protection, Control & AutomationAbout the RoleMy client are looking to recruit an experienced Site Manager with a strong Electrical Engineering background to support the delivery of complex energy infrastructure projects across the UK.This role is predominantly site-based and will involve managing the safe, high-quality installation, commissioning and customer acceptance of Protection, Control, Automation and Electrical systems at transmission substations, large generators and industrial client sites.You will take full responsibility for safety, quality, time and specification, leading multi-disciplinary site teams and subcontractors while ensuring compliance with all regulatory, safety and quality standards.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the installation, commissioning and customer acceptance of Protection, Control, Automation and Electrical installations across the Energy Sector, ensuring delivery to safety, quality, programme and specificationLead and manage site teams including Site Technicians, Hardware Engineers, Commissioning Engineers, Software Engineers and subcontractorsSupervise electrical, mechanical, cabling, lifting and delivery subcontractorsChair pre-start meetings, site progress meetings and coordination meetings with clients, producing associated minutesDevelop, review and implement site documentation including Construction Phase Plans, SHE plans, RAMS, site inductions and waste management plansEnsure works comply with CDM Regulations 2015 and relevant industry standardsCarry out site surveys to support tendering and project deliveryWork collaboratively with engineering, project management and SHEQ teams to ensure successful project deliveryLiaise with Project Management to ensure adequate site resources are planned and managedSupport the identification and management of changes to scope, programme and costAssist with electrical installation, testing and commissioning activities where requiredControl site drawings, documentation and Installation & Test Plans (ITPs)Organise site welfare, tools and equipmentMonitor site activities and assess the competence of staff and contractorsCandidate ProfileProven experience as a Site Manager with an electrical installation backgroundStrong understanding of electrical and minor mechanical installation practicesAbility to read and interpret drawings and engineering documentationGood working knowledge of UK construction and CDM Regulations 2015Strong leadership, communication and organisational skillsStructured, analytical approach to workAbility to work under pressure and to deadlinesFull UK driving licence and willingness to travelCurrent National Grid Competent PersonExperience working to National Grid procedures and standardsAuthorised as SR163 (previously TP137) Site ManagerExperience delivering substation Protection & Control projectsUnderstanding of Impressed Voltages and associated risksQualifications & Training (Essential or Highly Desirable):BS 7671 18th EditionCITB Site Managers Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) or equivalentHealth 'safety training (e.g. IOSH, CITB, RoSPA, BSC)Temporary Works Coordination / SupervisionFirst Aid at WorkAsbestos AwarenessWorking at Height, Confined Spaces, Manual HandlingLifting Operations (Appointed Person / Slinger / Banksman)Understanding of UK Environmental and Waste Management legislation
