Operating in highly regulated engineering and electronics markets, this business places safety, quality and continuous improvement at the heart of everything it does.What’s the role all about?As Head of HSE, you’ll lead the health, safety and environmental strategy across all UK operations, while also providing governance and alignment support to global sites overseas.This is a senior leadership role where you’ll influence business-wide decision making, shape culture and ensure the organisation operates safely, compliantly and sustainably.You’ll be responsible for:Developing and leading the HSE strategy, policies and proceduresEnsuring compliance with UK legislation and international standards (ISO 45001 and ISO 14001)Owning and maintaining the HSE management systemAdvising senior leadership and reporting HSE performance at board levelDriving accident prevention, behavioural safety and cultural change initiativesLeading audits, inspections and incident investigationsWorking closely with Engineering, Production and People teams to embed HSE best practiceReducing environmental impact through energy, waste and emissions initiativesManaging COSHH, REACH and waste complianceDesigning and delivering HSE training across all levels of the organisationSupporting global HSE alignment and continuous improvement projectsThis is a highly visible, influential role with genuine scope to shape long-term safety and sustainability performance.What you’ll bringTo succeed as Head of Health, Safety & Environment, you’ll need:10+ years’ experience in a senior HSE leadership role within manufacturingStrong working knowledge of UK HSE legislation and standardsExperience operating in high-risk environments (e.g. electroplating, machining, assembly)Proven delivery of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systemsNEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent); CMIOSH preferredExcellent communication and influencing skills at all levelsA track record of driving behavioural and cultural changeStrong analytical, problem-solving and project management capabilityWho you areYou’re pragmatic, credible and solutions-focused.
