Job Title: Commercial Transport Operative Location: Coventry & Leamington Spa Job Summary: We are looking for a dependable and multi-skilled Commercial Transport Operative to support the maintenance and operation of our fleet vehicles, including cars, vans, HGVs, and specialist lifting equipment. This is a permanent, full-time position based across our Coventry and Leamington Spa sites. We are also interested in hearing from contract workers and would consider this position to be either on a contract, or a PAYE basis. This is a varied and hands-on role, ideal for someone with strong transport knowledge, HGV driving capabilities, and a proactive approach to vehicle compliance and maintenance. Key Responsibilities: Fleet Oversight: Coordinate and manage MOTs, servicing, repairs, and maintenance for the company's full range of vehicles and equipment including cars, vans, HGVs, scissor lifts, forklifts, and other lifting equipment. Compliance & Safety: Carry out regular vehicle safety checks and ensure all vehicles meet legal and operational compliance standards. Deliveries & Transport: Serve as the company's registered HGV driver, handling local deliveries, vehicle movements, and transport logistics as required. General Support: Provide hands-on labouring support across workshops and facilities where needed, including vehicle prep, site logistics, and basic upkeep. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of service records, inspections, and compliance documentation. Supplier Liaison: Communicate with garages, parts suppliers, and service providers to schedule work and ensure timely vehicle readiness.
