Location: Fareham, UK Salary: Up to 70,000 DOE Employment Type: Full-Time Were partnering with a fast-growing fintech-focused technology business based near Fareham thats expanding its engineering team. The company is looking for an experienced Software Developer with a strong background in commercial software development, ideally with solid experience in PHP and/or Golang , to help build and maintain high-quality applications. What youll be doing Design, develop and test scalable backend solutions using Golang . Maintain and enhance an existing PHP codebase to support ongoing product evolution. Work closely with engineers and product colleagues to translate requirements into robust software. Participate in code reviews and champion best engineering practices. Stay up to date with new technology trends, especially in Go and backend systems. Youll have 8+ years of commercial software development experience. Strong understanding of software design principles and development patterns. Familiarity with SQL and/or NoSQL databases. Experience in PHP and ideally exposure to Golang (or willingness to learn it). A problem-solving attitude and the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment. Nice-to-haves Experience with financial systems or fintech applications. Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP). Familiarity with unit testing and PCI-compliant environments.
