Prospero Teaching is seeking passionate and resilient SEN Teaching Assistants to support a range of SEN schools and Alternative Provisions across Southampton. These settings offer a highly rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of children and young people with additional needs, behavioural challenges, or barriers to learning. Key Responsibilities Providing personalised support to children with a range of special educational needs Assisting in the planning and delivery of creative, therapeutic, and inclusive activities Promoting safety, emotional well‑being, and positive engagement Supporting pupils with daily routines, emotional regulation, and developing independence Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families through clear and consistent communication Contract Details Location: Southampton and surrounding areassta Position: SEN Teaching Assistant Start Date: ASAP Contract Type: Full-time, with temp‑to‑perm pathways available Pay Rate: From £13.96 per hour Working Hours: 08:30 - 15:30 Requirements To be considered for this role, you must: Have the Right to Work in the UK Hold an enhanced child‑barred list DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply) Provide professional references covering the past 24 months, ideally involving work with children or vulnerable individuals Hold a Level 2/3 qualification in childcare, education, or a related field (or have relevant experience) What We Offer Free accredited CPD, including safeguarding, behaviour management, and de‑escalation Access to our specialist In‑house Training and Development Team Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant who understands SEN and Alternative Provision environments Refer a Friend Know someone who would be a great fit for SEN or Alternative Provision work?
