Senior Accountant AC Accountancy UK Services UK Ltd Horwich, Bolton AC Accountancy UK Services is a professional, fast-growing accountancy practice based in Horwich, Bolton. We provide comprehensive business advice, strategic planning, tax services, self-assessment, payroll, VAT, bookkeeping, and statutory compliance to a diverse client base. We're a small, friendly team with a positive working environment, and we're now looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join us as we continue to grow. This is an opportunity to become a key member of the team, working alongside our directors and supporting our Level 4 AAT Apprentice. About the Role We're looking for someone who can hit the ground running with statutory year-end accounts, management accounts, and VAT reviews. You'll play an important role in mentoring junior staff while managing your own portfolio of clients. This is a well-managed practice where we pride ourselves on staying on top of workflows and deadlines. Key Responsibilities Preparing year-end statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders Preparing and reviewing management accounts, VAT returns, and company tax computations Reviewing work prepared by junior colleagues and offering guidance and feedback Liaising directly with clients to build strong, long-term relationships Supporting directors with advisory and planning projects Ensuring all client work is completed accurately, efficiently, and in line with deadlines Identifying opportunities for process improvement and value-added services What We're Looking For ACA, ACCA qualified, part-qualified (ACA/ACCA), or qualified by experience Experience working within a UK accountancy practice Confident preparing and reviewing financial statements and tax returns Strong knowledge of accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proactive, commercially minded, and committed to delivering high-quality client service A collaborative attitude and willingness to support the development of junior team members What We Offer Full-time position (flexible options available: 4 days per week or school-hours arrangements considered) Office-based role in Horwich, Bolton Competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications 20 days holiday plus 8 days bank holiday Additional holiday for your birthday Holiday purchase scheme up to a week Healthcare scheme Team days out approx. 3 per year.
