Water Utilities 2x Man Dig Crews (Self-Employed) - Own Van & Associated Tools Bristol & surrounding areas | £380-£450 per 2x man crew | Self-Employed Introduction I am recruiting for two experienced Water Utilities 2x man Dig Crews (self-employed) with own van and hand tools, including Cat & Jenny and Skillsaw. The client will provide plant. This is a long-term role covering the digging of water utilities trial holes and pits to drill for new connections across sites throughout Bristol and the surrounding area. The role involves mains installation, repair, trenchless works, and associated civils activities, working in confined spaces, deep excavations, and delivering works to utility and client standards. Key Duties: Water mains installation, flushing, chlorination and testing. Safe excavation and reinstatement. Operation of excavators, dumpers and trench support systems. Mechanical jointing, fusion welding and service connections. Compliance with NRSWA, SHEA Water and Safe Dig practices. Working in confined spaces and deep excavations. Use of trenchless methods where required (mole, winch, drilling). Accurate completion of site records and digital systems. Requirements: SHEA Water and Water Hygiene. Manual Handling. Asbestos Awareness. First Aid. Construction Operative L2 (Mains and Services). NRSWA Operative. Excavator and Dumper tickets. Confined Space (Medium Risk). Deep Excavation / Ground Support.
