Hill McGlynn Recruitment is pleased to be working with a growing and well-regarded fit-out contractor based in Whitstable, who is looking to appoint an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support their commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring Quantity Surveyor seeking to build a long-term career in the construction and fit-out sector. Our client is committed to developing talent and can support a Quantity Surveying degree if required. The Role: As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will work closely with senior commercial staff and gain hands-on experience across live fit-out projects. Key responsibilities include: Assisting with cost management and budget control Supporting the preparation of valuations and cost reports Helping with subcontractor procurement and administration Assisting with variations and change control Supporting final accounts and project close-out Working closely with the site and project teams The Ideal Candidate Some experience or strong interest in Quantity Surveying within construction or fit-out Degree-qualified or working towards a Quantity Surveying or Construction-related qualification (or willing to start one) Degree support available if required Strong numerical and organisational skills Good communication skills and a proactive attitude Desire to learn and progress within a commercial role What's on Offer Salary up to 35,000 , depending on experience Car allowance Degree support and structured career development Supportive team environment with clear progression opportunities Long-term opportunity with a stable fit-out contractor If you are an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or an ambitious graduate looking to take the next step in your career, Hill McGlynn Recruitment would love to hear from you.
