Legal Cashier An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Legal Cashier to join a well-established finance team based in Stockport. The Role You will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the firms financial operations, ensuring all client and office account activity is handled accurately and in line with regulatory requirements. The role offers exposure to reporting, compliance, and process improvement within a supportive, collaborative team. Key Duties Managing client and office account transactions in accordance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules. Processing receipts, payments, transfers, and write-offs accurately and efficiently. Monitoring client balances and resolving discrepancies where necessary. Handling petty cash, credit card transactions, and staff expense claims. Processing supplier invoices and arranging timely payments. Assisting with the preparation of management information, including fee earner and departmental performance reports. Supporting senior finance colleagues with the preparation of management accounts. Assisting with internal and external audits by providing financial data and reports. Maintaining accurate financial records within the practice management system. Contributing to process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Providing guidance and support to colleagues on financial procedures when required. About You At least two years experience working as a Legal Cashier within a law firm. Strong working knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules. Experience preparing and analysing management reports. Confident IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel. Experience using legal accounting software (P4W experience advantageous). Highly organised with excellent attention to detail. A clear and effective communicator who works well as part of a team.
