Senior Civil EngineerHertfordshire£45,000 to £60,000 depending on experienceWe are working with a well-established and forward-thinking civil and structural consultancy in Hertfordshire that is looking to appoint a Senior Civil Engineer as part of its continued growth.This is a strong opportunity for an experienced infrastructure engineer who wants real ownership of projects, exposure to a wide range of schemes, and a clear route for progression within a supportive technical environment.The RoleYou will take a lead role in the design and delivery of infrastructure projects across residential, commercial, retail, distribution, and technology sectors. This is a hands-on senior position combining technical leadership, project delivery, and mentoring of junior engineers.Key Responsibilities:Lead the design of highways, drainage, earthworks, and associated infrastructureProvide technical oversight across multiple live projectsEnsure designs meet relevant standards, regulations, and planning requirementsManage project budgets, programmes, and resourcesCoordinate with architects, contractors, and internal multidisciplinary teamsSupport construction stages, inspections, and health and safety compliancePrepare clear technical reports and drawingsMentor and develop junior engineersContribute to fee proposals, project management, and client relationshipsAbout You:Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or similarTypically 8 to 10 years’ experience within an infrastructure design consultancyIncorporated Engineer (IEng) or working towards chartershipStrong background in highways and infrastructure designProficient with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Vehicle Tracking, and MicroDrainage or InfoDrainageExperience producing FRAs and Drainage StrategiesGood understanding of BIM and digital design processes; Revit, Navisworks, and InfraWorks beneficialComfortable leading design packages and working within multidisciplinary teamsStrong technical, problem-solving, and commercial awarenessConfident communicator with client-facing experienceExperience acting as Project Manager or coordinating project teamsWhat’s on Offer:Competitive salary of £45,000 to £60,000Strong training and structured CPD supportPrivate medical insurance, including family cover25 days holiday plus public holidays and an additional birthday day offLife assurance and Bupa cash planEmployer pension contribution of 7.5 percentFlexible working arrangementsSupportive team culture with clear long-term career progression
