Every fortnight, our historians and experts unlock the secrets of the monarchs you think you know and reveal the forgotten lives of the people youve never heard of. From dramatic events to intimate human stories, we explore how history shapes us, and how these iconic palaces continue to come alive today. As a Digital Producer (Podcast), you will support Historic Royal Palaces ambition to reach and engage a broader audience, both nationally and internationally, with compelling audio storytelling that brings our palaces histories to life. You will lead the research, development, production, and commissioning of high quality history podcasts, while managing our publishing schedule across platforms. You will also lead the development of video podcast releases on YouTube, expanding the reach and engagement of our audio content. You will be a member of the Digital Engagement department within the Public Engagement directorate, working alongside a dynamic and dedicated team of digital professionals. Together, the team produces and manages a wide range of products, projects, and content across multiple digital platforms. From researching the fascinating history and stories of the palaces and shaping concepts for new podcast series to managing studio and on-location recordings at our historic sites and overseeing our podcast channel, this role offers ample opportunities to apply your expertise and creativity in a vital area of our work. To succeed in this role, you should be a seasoned Producer with confidence in researching history topics using diverse sources, particularly publications and subject matter experts. Your passion for British history and creative spark will enable you to transform your research into engaging podcast series that captivate our audiences. Your production skills are particularly important to us, and you will bring the production management expertise needed to oversee the entire process, from research and scripting to recording, editing, and delivery. Experience commissioning production partners to create content is desirable. A solid understanding of podcast platforms, metadata, and discoverability is essential. As the manager of our publishing schedule, you will devise and co-ordinate a content release plan in collaboration with teams across the charity. Your ability to maximise audience reach and engagement through platform best practices and data-driven insights will be key to this role.
