Job Title: Teacher - English (GCSE)Salary: Commencing at 31,138 with progression to 35,036 per annumClosing Date: 2026-01-25About the RoleAre you passionate about re-engaging young people through English and helping them rediscover confidence in learning?Leeds City College are seeking a committed and creative English Teacher to join our 1416 Skills Programme, supporting learners who have become disengaged from mainstream education.This is a unique opportunity to work within a specialist department delivering alternative education to school-aged learners. You will play a key role in delivering an engaging and accessible Functional Skills and GCSE English curriculum, developing learners literacy, communication, and exam skills to support both academic progress and personal development.Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, you will build positive relationships with learners, families, and external professionals, using a trauma informed, relational, and inclusive approach to remove barriers to learning. We therefore advise that if you are interested in applying for the role, to submit an application as soon as possible.What You Will DoPlan, prepare and develop schemes of work, session plans, teaching and learning resources, learning and assessment plans.Deliver and assess essential knowledge and understanding to learners.Motivate and inspire students to achieve targets and develop their skills to enable progression.Motivate and inspire students to achieve targets and develop their skills to enable progression.Develop and strengthen relationships with learners and provide support to ensure successful outcomes.Use and promote restorative practice approaches.About YouHolds a L5 Teaching Qualification (eg.
