Remote (occasional travel may be required) 500 per day - 6-month contract About the role: We are seeking a highly skilled Accessibility Specialist with proven central government experience to help our client deliver digital services that meet WCAG 2.2 AA and GDS Service Standard , while supporting teams to create inclusive, user-focused experiences. Key Responsibilities: Apply deep knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA and the GDS Service Standard in real delivery contexts. Turn automated accessibility tool findings ( axe, WAVE, Lighthouse ) into actionable improvements. Conduct assistive technology testing ( NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver ), keyboard-only navigation, zoom/reflow, and high-contrast modes. Embed accessibility in Agile deliverybacklog refinement, DoR/DoD, and acceptance criteria. Coach cross-functional teams (dev, design, QA, content) to apply accessibility in practice. Influence stakeholders by translating standards into clear, actionable guidance Essential: Previous experience working within central government services . Exposure to GDS service assessments . Strong front-end accessibility skills: semantic HTML, ARIA, forms, focus, error handling. Experience with CI tools, Jira/Azure DevOps, and component/library governance.
