Business Development Manager – ToxicologyLocation: UK – Remote (national travel required)Role OverviewThe Business Development Manager – Toxicology is responsible for driving commercial growth across the UK toxicology market. The role focuses on developing new and existing customer relationships across laboratory services, toxicology testing, analytical solutions, and/or reference standards within clinical, forensic, pharmaceutical, environmental, and regulatory sectors.This is a customer-facing role combining strategic market development with hands-on sales delivery and cross-functional collaboration.Key ResponsibilitiesIdentify and develop new business opportunities within the UK toxicology sector, including NHS, private laboratories, CROs, pharma/biotech, forensic, and regulatory organisationsManage the full sales lifecycle from lead generation through to contract awardDeliver agreed revenue and growth targets and manage key accountsBuild strong relationships with scientific, technical, and procurement stakeholdersMonitor market trends, competitor activity, and relevant regulatory developmentsCollaborate with scientific, quality, and operational teams to support proposals and service deliveryMaintain accurate CRM records, forecasts, and sales reportingExperience & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Toxicology, or a related discipline4–7+ years’ experience in business development or sales within toxicology, laboratory services, CROs, or life sciencesStrong understanding of the UK toxicology and laboratory environmentExperience managing complex sales cycles and negotiationsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsDesirablePostgraduate qualification (MSc or PhD)Knowledge of UKAS, GLP/GxP, or MHRA-regulated environmentsExperience selling into NHS or other regulated organisations
