Job Description

Quality Inspector (CMM) The Role We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Quality Inspector with expertise in Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) operation and programming . You will be responsible for inspecting precision components, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications, and maintaining the highest standards of quality throughout the production process. This position is based in Oxfordshire , reporting directly to the Head of Production. A highly competitive remuneration package is offered, including salary and potential equity incentives. Key Responsibilities Perform dimensional inspections using manual or CNC-controlled CMM equipment. Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and technical specifications. Program CMM machines using software such as PC-DMIS, Calypso , or similar. Manage and maintain the control plan. Conduct first article inspections (FAI), in-process checks, and final inspections. Document inspection results and generate comprehensive quality reports. Identify and report non-conformances, assisting in root cause analysis. Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues. Ensure calibration and cleanliness of inspection tools and equipment. Essential Qualities & Qualifications Proven experience as a Quality Inspector in a precision manufacturing environment . Proficiency in operating and programming CMM machines . Strong understanding of GD&T and mechanical inspection techniques. Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings . Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality standards. Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Desired Skills Experience with aerospace, automotive, or medical device components . Knowledge of additional inspection tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gauges). Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and quality documentation systems. Working Conditions Workshop or lab environment. May involve standing for extended periods and handling small precision parts. Use of PPE as required. TPBN1_UKTJ
