Quality Inspector (CMM) The Role We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Quality Inspector with expertise in Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) operation and programming . You will be responsible for inspecting precision components, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications, and maintaining the highest standards of quality throughout the production process. This position is based in Oxfordshire , reporting directly to the Head of Production. A highly competitive remuneration package is offered, including salary and potential equity incentives. Key Responsibilities Perform dimensional inspections using manual or CNC-controlled CMM equipment. Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and technical specifications. Program CMM machines using software such as PC-DMIS, Calypso , or similar. Manage and maintain the control plan. Conduct first article inspections (FAI), in-process checks, and final inspections. Document inspection results and generate comprehensive quality reports. Identify and report non-conformances, assisting in root cause analysis. Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues. Ensure calibration and cleanliness of inspection tools and equipment. Essential Qualities & Qualifications Proven experience as a Quality Inspector in a precision manufacturing environment . Proficiency in operating and programming CMM machines . Strong understanding of GD&T and mechanical inspection techniques. Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings . Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality standards. Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Desired Skills Experience with aerospace, automotive, or medical device components . Knowledge of additional inspection tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gauges). Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and quality documentation systems.
