Senior Quantity Surveyor 2-Year Fixed Term Contract | Site-Based | South Wales, UKWe are working with a major industrial organisation on a large-scale transformation of their core manufacturing and infrastructure assets. This multi-year capital programme is modernising operations, upgrading critical facilities, and creating a more efficient and sustainable platform for future growth.As part of this, our client is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor on a 2-year fixed term contract, in a site-based role. This is a rare opportunity to support a high-value, complex industrial programme with significant long-term impact.The opportunityYou will join the client’s commercial team and take responsibility for the commercial and contractual management of substantial construction and civil engineering workstreams. Working closely with project, engineering and delivery teams, you’ll ensure cost, value, risk and compliance are proactively managed across multiple packages.This role will suit a Senior Quantity Surveyor who wants to:Contribute to a major, complex capital investment programmeApply their experience of standard forms of contract (e.g. NEC / FIDIC) in a demanding industrial environmentPlay a key part in shaping commercial approaches, controls and governance on a large projectKey responsibilitiesIn this role, you will:Lead the end-to-end commercial management of significant construction and civils packages, from procurement and tendering through to final accountPrepare, monitor and report on budgets, cost plans and forecasts, ensuring effective cost control and value for moneyManage subcontract procurement, including tender documentation, evaluation, negotiation and contract awardAdminister contracts and manage change, variations and compensation events in line with standard forms such as NEC and/or FIDICSupport the preparation, evaluation and negotiation of claims, and contribute to commercial risk identification and mitigationWork closely with project managers, engineers, planners and site teams to ensure alignment between commercial and technical objectivesProvide guidance and support to junior commercial staff, helping to embed strong commercial practice across the teamCandidate profileTo be successful in this role, you will bring:A degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related disciplineChartered status (RICS/CIOB) or working towards it (strongly preferred)Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor on major civils, infrastructure or heavy engineering projectsSolid working knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 and/or FIDIC (experience with JCT or other standard forms is an advantage)Demonstrable experience in cost management, contract administration, change control and subcontract managementStrong stakeholder management, negotiation and analytical skills, with the ability to communicate clearly across project, engineering and commercial teamsA proactive, solutions-focused mindset, with the ability to balance value, compliance, risk and delivery in a live project environmentWhat’s on offerThe opportunity to work with a major industrial client on a significant transformation programmeA 2-year fixed term contract with exposure to complex, large-scale industrial and infrastructure worksCompetitive salary and benefits, aligned with experience and market conditionsA collaborative, multi-disciplinary project environment where your commercial expertise will be central to successful deliveryInterested?If you’re an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor looking for your next challenge on a major industrial programme, please reach out
