Position Overview We are seeking a passionate and experienced Consultant Breast Radiologist to join our dynamic and forward-thinking team at Kettering General Hospital. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting our breast multidisciplinary team, with a strong focus on cross‑sectional imaging and oncology care. The successful applicant will play a key role within a well‑established Breast Multidisciplinary Team, contributing to symptomatic and assessment clinics, cross‑sectional imaging, and oncology case management. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a high‑performing, patient‑focused environment.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide clinical direction to the radiography team and support the Breast Multidisciplinary Team.Contribute to symptomatic and assessment clinics, cross‑sectional imaging, and oncology case management.Actively contribute to continuous improvement of the service through participation in Screening Quality Assurance meetings, formal QA reviews, and Programme Management Board discussions focused on service performance and quality outcomes.Perform 10G and 7G vacuum‑assisted biopsies, 7G vacuum‑assisted excisions using Bard Enspire and Mammotome systems.Conduct weekly wire localisations or Magseed insertions in collaboration with Consultant Radiographers and Advanced Practitioner Radiographers.Perform Contrast Enhanced Spectral Mammography (CESM) and CESM biopsy as part of pre‑operative planning and surveillance pathways.Interpret and double‑report approximately 300 Breast MRIs per year.Utilise ultrasound suites (GE Logiq scanners) and imaging systems such as Kubtec Mozart 3D specimen imaging and Trueview core system.Work within a radiology team that includes acute imaging, cancer imaging and other specialist services, supported by a GE PACS and part of the EMRAD consortium.Working Environment Our purpose‑built, integrated Breast Care Unit offers facilities for both screening and symptomatic breast imaging services, serving a population of over 55,000 women. The unit consistently meets and often exceeds NHSBSP key performance indicators, reflecting our commitment to high standards and best practice. The breast surgery service includes four highly skilled Oncoplastic Breast Surgeons delivering seven 2‑week wait symptomatic referral clinics per week, ensuring timely, coordinated, and comprehensive care for our patients.Equal Opportunities We are an equal opportunities employer, which aims to employ a workforce that reflects the diverse communities we serve. New employees who do not join the update service will be required to pay £49.50 for a new DBS check in 3 years time.
