Overview A Consultant post has become available in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology department at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (LTHTR). The role is an Obstetrics post with a special interest in maternal medicine, requiring participation in obstetric on‑call (total on call is 1:11 with an additional obstetric hot week 1:12). The successful candidate will support governance and teaching roles, and contribute to the running and development of the department.ResponsibilitiesParticipate in obstetric on‑call duties (1:11 plus a hot week 1:12).Attend antenatal clinic sessions and labour ward sessions during daytime commitments.Support the department’s governance, teaching and continuous improvement initiatives.QualificationsStrong enthusiasm for obstetric services.Experience in maternal medicine specialist services; obstetric haematology expertise is desirable.Clinical and professional competencies appropriate for a Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.What we can offer The Trust offers a supportive working environment with flexible working options, well‑being support, and opportunities for professional development. The Trust has approximately 4,500 births annually and a level three neonatal unit. We provide Bluebell and Rainbow clinics and services for high‑risk pregnancies, and we have become the Maternal Medicine Centre for Lancashire and South Cumbria.
