Role Overview The role would be suitable for applicants who have received their CCT in the previous 2 years and who have not previously held a substantive role within General Practice.To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the contract.The post holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.Working 6 sessions per week, from Tuesday to Friday.Main duties of the jobthe post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, pathology, test results & paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.undertake duty doctor role as required by the practice.Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation.Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illnessDeveloping care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols.Providing counselling and health educationAdmitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate.Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards Collecting data for audit purposesCompiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptionsPrescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate.About us We are a small, 4700 patient practice, based in the heart of Leicester City who are passionate about excellent clinical care.
