Job Title: Workshop SupervisorLocation: Derby (close to Burton-upon-Trent)Salary: 40,000 50,000 (dependent on experience)Recruiting on behalf of: OEM Manufacturer of Articulated Dump TrucksAll potential candidates should read through the following details of this job with care before making an application.NEOS Engineering is recruiting on behalf of a leading OEM manufacturer of Articulated Dump Trucks for an experienced Workshop Supervisor to join their operation based in Derby, conveniently located near Burton-upon-Trent.This is a fantastic opportunity to join a globally recognised heavy equipment manufacturer in a leadership role within a modern, well-equipped workshop environment.Role OverviewThe Workshop Supervisor will lead and coordinate all workshop activities, ensuring machines are built, inspected, serviced, and repaired to the highest manufacturer standards. You will manage a team of engineers and technicians, drive productivity, and ensure strict compliance with health and safety and quality procedures.Key Responsibilities Supervise and manage daily workshop operations Lead, motivate, and support a team of engineers and technicians Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to OEM standards Allocate workload effectively to meet production and service deadlines Oversee diagnostics, repairs, PDI, machine builds, and warranty work Maintain quality control and ensure accurate completion of job documentation Monitor productivity and workshop performance metrics Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations Liaise with parts, service, and management teams to coordinate workflow Support the development and progression of workshop staffKey Performance Indicators Jobs completed on time and within budget High workshop efficiency and minimal downtime Zero lost-time incidents Strong team performance and engagement Compliance with manufacturer quality standardsSkills & Experience Required Proven experience in a senior technician, chargehand, or workshop supervisory role Strong background in heavy plant, earthmoving equipment, or articulated dump trucks Experience working within an OEM or dealer environment is highly desirable Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability xjdpvnf Knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems Good understanding of health and safety compliance IT literate and comfortable with workshop management systems Full UK driving licenceCore Competencies Strong leadership and people management Excellent organisational and planning skills Commercial awareness and cost control understanding Clear communication and problem-solving ability Ability to drive standards and accountabilityWhats on Offer Salary between 40,000 50,000 Opportunity to work for a respected OEM manufacturer Stable, long-term position with career progression opportunities Supportive and professional working environment
