At Sellafield, Altrad is a key delivery partner within the PPP programme, supporting long-term nuclear decommissioning and hazard reduction activities.Role OverviewWe are seeking motivated and analytical Graduate Project Controls Engineers to support project controls activities across the Sellafield PPP programme.This role will be predominantly based from our Westlakes Offices, with travel to site as required. You will gain hands-on exposure to planning, cost control, progress measurement, forecasting, and performance reporting within a highly regulated, safety-critical nuclear environment.The role offers a structured graduate development pathway, providing the foundations for professional accreditation and progression toward Chartered Engineer or Project Professional status.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport project controls activities across cost, schedule, risk, and performance management disciplinesAssist in the development, maintenance, and analysis of project schedules (short-term and integrated)Support cost control activities including budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and variance analysisAssist with progress measurement, earned value analysis (EVA), and performance reportingContribute to monthly reporting cycles, dashboards, and client-facing performance dataSupport risk and opportunity identification, quantification, and mitigation trackingLiaise with engineering, construction, commercial, and delivery teams to ensure accurate data capture and reportingEnsure compliance with project controls procedures, governance requirements, and nuclear regulatory expectationsPromote a strong safety culture and adherence to health, safety, quality, and environmental standardsActively engage in structured graduate training, mentoring, and professional development activitiesKey RequirementsBachelor’s degree (or higher) in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related disciplineStrong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skillsInterest in project controls, planning, cost management, or performance analysis within major projectsGood working knowledge of Microsoft Excel; familiarity with planning or cost tools (e.g. Primavera P6, MS Project, Power BI) is advantageousStrong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teamsAbility to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a structured project environmentWillingness to travel to site as requiredPrevious industrial placement, project, or data/analysis experience is advantageous but not essentialSecurity & Eligibility RequirementsDue to the nature of operational nuclear sites:Applicants must be eligible to obtain BPSS security clearanceAppointment is subject to satisfactory security clearance and background checksWhy Join Altrad?Gain hands-on experience in Project Controls on major nuclear and infrastructure projectsDevelop core skills across planning, cost, risk, and performance managementStructured graduate development programme with mentoring and professional supportCompetitive salary and benefits packageClear career progression toward Chartered Engineer, APM, or Project Controls professional pathwaysA professional, collaborative, and safety-driven working environment
