WTG Pre‐Assembly & Installation ManagerSector: Offshore WindLocation: Remote (2–3 days in the client's Glasgow office every other week)Rate: £800 per day (Inside IR35, via Umbrella)Contract: 12‐month initial contract + likely extensionsStart: ASAPClearance: BPSS (DBS, financial checks, employment history), medical questionnaire & Right to Work in the UKMake Your Mark on a Major UK Offshore Wind DevelopmentWe're partnering with a leading renewable energy developer on a large UK offshore wind farm and are looking for an experienced WTG Pre‐Assembly & Installation Manager to oversee the planning and delivery of wind turbine pre‐assembly, load‐out, transportation and installation.This is a high‐impact role at the heart of offshore construction, ideal for someone who enjoys being close to the vessels, harbour operations and Tier 1 contractors – and wants to play a key part in the UK's energy transition.The OpportunityActing as the WTG Pre‐Assembly & Installation Manager, you will:Lead and coordinate the full WTG pre‐assembly, load‐out, transport and installation (T&I) scopeInitially support the procurement and negotiation of the WTG installation vessel charter, then manage the agreement throughout executionProvide day‐to‐day oversight of the WTG contractor during pre‐assembly and offshore installationAct as a key interface between the WTG contractor, installation vessel and client teamManage a small team of T&I Engineers and the associated engineering scopeYou'll report to the WTG Package Manager and work closely with construction, commissioning, HSE and marine teams to drive safe, efficient and quality‐focused delivery.What You'll Be DoingTechnical & Delivery LeadershipOversee WTG pre‐assembly, marshalling, load‐out, transport and offshore installation activitiesManage the installation vessel charter agreement, including performance and contractual complianceCoordinate vessel audits, inspections and mobilisation activitiesAct as the Employer's Representative for marshalling harbour and installation vesselsSafety & Risk ManagementLead HSE performance for Tier 1 contractors within your scopeCoordinate HAZIDs, HAZOPs and safety workshops, ensuring actions are tracked and closedDrive proactive risk and opportunity management across the T&I scopeInterfaces & StakeholdersBe the primary contact for the Marine Warranty Surveyor, ensuring all requirements are met for load‐out, transport and installationManage the interface between the WTG Contractor, the installation vessel, and the WTG Commissioning ManagerProvide regular reports and updates to the WTG Package Manager on progress, risks and mitigationWhat We're Looking ForEssentialDegree or equivalent experience in a relevant disciplineProven project management experience in large infrastructure/energy projectsHands‐on experience managing offshore WTG load‐out, transport and installation operationsDemonstrable experience of construction and/or vessel contract managementStrong Health, Safety and Wellbeing mindset, with a track record of safe deliveryKnowledge of UK offshore wind construction regulation, including CDM RegulationsExcellent communication skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships across multiple stakeholdersStrong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and deliver to deadlinesWillingness to travel to contractor offices, marshalling ports and offshore sites as requiredDesirableExperience in offshore wind across multiple project phases (development, construction, commissioning)Understanding of full project lifecycle / stage‐gate principlesRelevant GWO'sIf you have offshore WTG Pre-Assembly & Installation experience and want to take a leading role on a major UK offshore wind project, we'd love to hear from you.Please apply with your CV and a brief summary of your relevant WTG Pre-Assembly & Installation experience
