Please note this role will require extensive travelling - up to 75% of the time - across EMEA and JAPAC.The Data Center Build Team builds physical data center infrastructure to create capacity that supports Oracle Cloud Infrastructure in different regions around the world. This is an area in which we need strong expertise in layer 1 networking, data center facilities (i.e.; power, cooling), structured cabling solutions, and vendor management with a history of building and or supporting physical data center low-voltage infrastructure.Responsibilities:1. Coordinate implementation and support efforts for new and existing Oracle data centres2. Onsite vendor management to deliver build out of data center infrastructure3. Create and maintain documentation relating to cabling and build standards for data center infrastructure4. Review Bill of Materials to determine project scope of work5. Creation of project scope of work to be distributed to vendors to obtain quotes6. Participate in vendor bidding and selection process7. Design and implement innovative structured cabling solutions for new data center builds and expansions8. Manage multiple concurrent projects9. Deliver simple, sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes10. Work closely with our Program Management team to ensure project deliverables are met and a good customer experience is provided11. Collaborate with key project stakeholders12. Participate in vendor quarterly business reviews13. Troubleshoot cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords14. Assist in creating global data center cabling and infrastructure standardsDesired Skills:1. Experience designing and deploying complete data center physical plant cabling systems2. Familiar with TIA Data Center Cabling Standards3. Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies4. Knowledge of network cabling, fibreoptic types and transceiver types5. Experience installing and troubleshooting bulk fiberoptic cabling6. Experience with installation and planning of all infrastructure within the data center the white space7. Broad understanding of infrastructure technologies8. Strong track record of successful vendor management across multiple vendors in various locations9. Experience using test equipment such as VFL, power meter, and OTDR10. Thorough understanding of Cat 5, Cat 6 and OM1 – OS2 fiber optic cabling systems11. Knowledge of data center critical environment electrical Infrastructure12. Knowledge of colocation data center critical environment mechanical infrastructure13. Experience in development of RFI/RFQ/RFPs for requesting vendor quoting
