Job Description

Contract Personnel are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established local food processing plant, who are seeking a Multi-Skilled Engineer with an electrical bias to join their engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment, supporting production through effective maintenance, fault finding and continuous improvement.The Role:As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining site equipment, ensuring production efficiency and upholding high standards of food safety, GMP and Health & Safety.Key responsibilities include:Championing and maintaining Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards across the siteFault finding and troubleshooting across electrical, mechanical and control systemsCarrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on machineryMonitoring and optimising production processes to maximise efficiency and performanceResponding promptly to breakdowns to minimise downtimeAccurately recording maintenance activities and equipment performanceSupporting continuous improvement initiativesPromoting and ensuring compliance with all Health & Safety policies and proceduresUndertaking additional duties as required to support business objectivesAbout you:Recognised qualifications or certifications in multi-skilled engineeringProven engineering experience within a food manufacturing environmentExperience working with PLC systems and automationStrong knowledge of mechanical, electrical and control systems maintenanceAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and manualsExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailStrong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a teamFlexible approach to shift work, including rotating shifts and weekend coverPositive, proactive and reliableMethodical, organised and safety-focusedAble to thrive in a fast-paced, changing production environmentResilient and adaptable with a strong work ethicFull-time, permanentMonday to Friday;1 week earlies 6am – 2:30pm1 week lates 2pm – 10:30pmSalary: up to £47k pa DOEOvertime available at time and a halfAbout Contract Personnel:Contract Personnel are one of East Anglia's longest-standing, leading independent recruitment agencies – established in 1989.
