JOB PURPOSE:This job description is intended as a guide to the type of role the Job Holder is expected to perform. As the nature of our business can vary with changes in customer requirements and operation procedures the following tasks are the key duties of the role, but it is understood that the Job Holder will undertake any function in which he/she is adequately trained or competent. If in time, significant change to the role is experienced, a new job description will be issued.Reporting to the Production Manager, the successful candidate will work closely with all production teams performing both planned and breakdown maintenance on print and print related areas and to respond to requests for repairs/spared ordering in a timely manner in accordance with the requirements of the business.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:The role will encompass:Performing planned maintenance on print and print related machinery to ensure that they are at a high standardActing in a training capacity to print minders to enhance current maintenance practicesImplementing and providing training for all employees for planned preventative maintenance programs in finishingResponding to breakdowns and requests for workImplementing improvements on current processedReducing downtime of current equipment and maintain the current spare part inventoryIdentifying and implementing improvements on current finishing maintenance processesWorking with management to establish new spare parts processes including Kanbans where necessary to improve spare part inventory managementDeveloping and recording all engineering activities carried out by use of the Electronic Maintenance Management System including spare parts ordering and booking inEffectiveness of machinery and therefore production outputKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCEEssential:City & Guilds trained with an HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.18th Edition certificate.Preferable:Experience working within a manufacturing environmentMechanical engineering experienceOrganisational skills with quick reactivity to breakdownsProblem solving skillsDecision making abilityComputer literateAdaptable technician with experience working with PLC's, AC/DC motors, drives and controllers, ideally within the packaging industry.Adaptable fault finding and rectification skills.IPAF working at heights trainingBEHAVIOURS:ExcellenceAccountabilityIntegrityRespect
