Known for its hands-on approach, strategic insight, and deep industry expertise, the firm works closely with clients across the full product lifecycle, with a particular focus on launch readiness and execution.Position OverviewThe Director of Launch Excellence will play a pivotal leadership role within the firm, responsible for shaping and delivering high-impact launch strategies for pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients. This individual will bring deep expertise in product commercialisation and launch execution, combining strategic thinking with practical, real-world delivery.The role is ideally suited to a senior consultant or industry professional with extensive experience supporting or leading launches across specialty, rare disease, or broader pharma portfolios. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to clients, lead cross-functional engagements, and contribute to the continued growth and thought leadership of the firm.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design and delivery of end-to-end launch excellence and commercialisation programmes for pharmaceutical and biotechnology clientsAdvise senior client stakeholders on launch strategy, launch readiness, and best-practice execution across key marketsDevelop launch frameworks, tools, and methodologies aligned to client needs and evolving industry standardsSupport clients across key launch workstreams, including (but not limited to) commercial strategy, cross-functional alignment, governance, and operational readinessProvide hands-on leadership across client engagements, ensuring high-quality delivery and measurable impactMentor and support junior consultants, contributing to capability development within the firmContribute to business development activities, including proposal development, client presentations, and thought leadership initiativesStay abreast of industry trends, regulatory considerations, and evolving best practices in pharmaceutical and biotech launchesCandidate ProfileRequired:Degree in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g. Life Sciences, Biomedical Science, Pharmacy, Chemistry, or related field)8–10+ years of experience within the pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology sectors, gained through consulting and/or industry rolesProven track record in commercialisation and launch excellence, with direct experience supporting product launchesStrong understanding of the pharmaceutical product lifecycle and cross-functional launch dynamicsDemonstrated ability to engage credibly with senior client stakeholdersExcellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skillsComfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and client-facing consulting environmentPreferred:Prior consulting experience within a strategy, commercial, or life sciences consultancyExperience across specialty, orphan/rare disease, or innovative therapy areasExposure to UK and/or European market launchesWhy Join?Opportunity to play a senior, influential role within a growing boutique consulting firmHigh level of autonomy and visibility across client engagementsRemote working flexibility (UK-based)Collaborative, high-calibre team environment with direct client impactOpportunity to shape launch excellence offerings and thought leadership within the firmLocationRemote (UK based).Remuneration/PackageMarket competitive package - further information will be shared if your application is successful.Diversity and InclusionMorgan Prestwich Executive Search is committed to providing a diverse range of talent to our clients.
