This is a specialist clinical role within a fast-growing, values-led organisation. Working remotely, you'll conduct detailed assessments of social communication, pragmatic language and interaction profiles, contributing directly to high-quality diagnostic decision-making within a multidisciplinary framework.We welcome applications from both experienced clinicians and newly qualified Speech and Language Therapists who can demonstrate strong clinical reasoning, a commitment to neuroaffirmative practice and a genuine interest in neurodevelopmental assessment.You'll play a key role in ensuring our ASD diagnostic pathways remain robust, evidence-based and person-centred, with reports that clearly recognise both strengths and support needs. The role requires attention to detail, curiosity, and confidence in identifying subtle or masked presentations, supported by supervision and multidisciplinary collaboration.Role ResponsibilitiesSpecialist Autism Diagnostic AssessmentConduct structured speech, language and social communication assessments as part of ASD diagnostic pathwaysDeliver and score standardised tools (e.g. ADOS-2) where trained and competentAssess pragmatic language, social interaction and communication differences relevant to ASD diagnostic criteriaContribute findings to multidisciplinary diagnostic formulation discussionsClinical Documentation & ReportingProduce high-quality, structured diagnostic reportsClearly communicate communication strengths and differencesEnsure reports are neuroaffirmative, accessible and evidence-basedMaintain accurate clinical records in line with HCPC and organisational standardsMultidisciplinary CollaborationWork closely with psychiatrists, psychologists and clinicians within the MDTContribute meaningfully to shared clinical reasoning and diagnostic decisionsCommunicate professionally within a fully remote working environmentPatient Experience & Communication AdjustmentsDeliver strengths-based, accessible feedback to individuals and familiesIdentify and implement reasonable communication adjustmentsPromote inclusive, neuroaffirmative practiceRecognise and escalate safeguarding concerns appropriatelyProfessional Practice & DevelopmentMaintain active HCPC registration and professional standardsEngage in supervision and CPDWork autonomously within scope of competenceMaintain up-to-date knowledge of NICE guidance relating to autismAbout YouEssentialRegistered Speech and Language Therapist with active HCPC registrationExperience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum DisorderExperience assessing social communication and pragmatic language differencesStrong understanding of ASD and ADHD presentations, including masking and differential diagnosesExperience contributing to multidisciplinary assessmentsStrong report-writing and clinical formulation skillsAbility to communicate complex information clearly and compassionatelyConfident working autonomously in a remote settingDegree (or equivalent) in Speech and Language TherapyDesirableExperience contributing directly to autism diagnostic assessmentsADOS-2 trainingExperience delivering remote assessmentsExperience in schools, LD services, ND services or specialist ASD servicesExperience within independent/private healthcare settingsPostgraduate training in autism or neurodevelopmental conditionsFamiliarity with diagnostic tools such as ADOS-2 or ADI-RUnderstanding of trauma-informed approachesOur Values in ActionRespectWe listen with empathy, value lived experience and communicate with honesty and care.
