As the technical authority for a well-established power switching product line, you will work closely with OEM design teams, distributors, sales, and internal product groups to secure design wins, solve complex application challenges, and shape the future product roadmap.You'll be instrumental in positioning the brand as a true subject-matter expert in power switching solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesApplication Engineering & Design-Win OwnershipAnalyse customer applications and translate requirements into robust relay and contactor-based solutionsSupport OEM design teams from concept through validation to design-winChallenge product and process specifications to achieve best-in-class performanceCustomer & Channel EngagementAct as the technical interface for direct customers and distributor networksSupport sales and business development teams with deep application insightDeliver technical seminars and customer-facing presentationsProduct & Market InfluenceMonitor competitive and application trends to influence product lifecycle, NPI, and roadmap strategySupport the introduction of new products and the development of in-house manufacturing capabilityQuality, Compliance & CertificationOwn and manage CE, UL, VDE, and TUV approvals and ongoing certification requirementsLiaise with external approval bodies and key manufacturing partnersKnowledge LeadershipCoach and upskill engineering and sales teamsPromote a culture of reliable, repeatable, application-led engineering excellenceRequirements – Technical & Commercial DepthHard Technical FocusRelays & Contactors (Power Switching)Solid-state & electromechanical systemsElectrical & mechanical engineering fundamentalsCore CompetenciesStrong working knowledge of CE, UL, VDE, TUVExperience operating within regulated testing and H&S environmentsProven ability to design complete power switching solutionsHigh-level stakeholder communication skillsCommercial awareness within OEM / distributor ecosystemsBackgroundEngineering degree (Master's preferred) or equivalent high-level industry experienceDemonstrable track record supporting relay/contactor solutions across multiple applicationsComfortable working globally across time zones, with a willingness to travelWhat's On OfferCompetitive base salary + discretionary annual bonus26 days holiday + bank holidays (rising to 29 with service)Salary sacrifice pension & EV schemePrivate healthcare & wellbeing programmeDeath in service (4x salary)Employee share scheme eligibilityA platform to become a recognised authority within power switching applicationsApply now or send a confidential DM to learn more.
