Transport Manager (Air Freight & European Haulage) Location: Slough Salary: 50,000 60,000+ per annum (DOE) Hours: Monday to Friday | 10-hour day shift Contract: Permanent Vanta Staffing are recruiting an experienced Transport Manager on behalf of a well-established and highly respected logistics operation specialising in air freight and European haulage . This role is a proactive replacement within an established Transport Management team and offers an excellent opportunity for a specialist professional to step into a key leadership position. Outstanding candidates will be well rewarded. The Role You will be responsible for the safe, compliant and efficient management of a busy HGV fleet, working alongside two other experienced Transport Managers. This position requires strong regulatory knowledge, commercial awareness, and hands-on leadership in a fast-paced, time-critical logistics environment. Key Responsibilities Full responsibility for O-Licence compliance , DVSA and Traffic Commissioner standards Maintain accurate fleet and operator data via the Gov.uk Vehicle Operator Licence portal Manage vehicle planners, fleet documentation and preventative maintenance schedules Enforce VOR policy and minimise fleet downtime Monitor driver defect reporting and ensure compliance Manage tachograph downloads, infringements and WTD reporting Review driver performance and deliver corrective training Oversee driver licence and DCPC compliance via RHA systems Manage vehicle defect tracking and daily handovers Escalate H&S and RTA incidents to senior management Oversee tyre inspections and supplier management Lead recruitment and onboarding of compliant PAYE drivers Conduct accident investigations and liaise with insurers Ensure site Health & Safety policies are followed Maintain continuous professional development Identify and implement improvements to transport operations About You To be considered, you must demonstrate strong, relevant sector experience. Essential: Minimum 5 years' experience in Transport / Fleet Management Transport Manager CPC (held for at least 2 years) Proven experience within Air Freight operations Experience working with European haulage networks Excellent knowledge of UK & EU transport legislation Strong leadership and team-working skills Full UK driving licence Desirable: Class 1 licence Strong mechanical knowledge of trucks and trailers What's on Offer Salary up to 50,000+ for the right candidate Stable MondayFriday day shift Senior role within a specialist logistics operation Long-term career security Opportunity to influence operational strategy Why Apply?
