This role offers a fantastic opportunity to join a well‑established Specialist Psychotherapy Service in a CQC‑rated Outstanding Trust. The consultant psychiatrist will support an integrated, psychologically‑informed, trauma‑informed and accessible service, lead training for resident doctors and act as the psychotherapy tutor for the directorate. The team is based in a community clinic near Hoxton/Haggerston/London Fields, walking distance from Broadway Market.Main Duties1.0 wte post made available due to maternity leave. The consultant psychiatrist will:Provide clinical leadership and input to the Specialist Psychotherapy Service, working closely with the operational and clinical leads.Lead a multidisciplinary team of therapists, psychologists and junior doctors.Support wards and the community neighbourhood mental health team.Oversee trainee development, ensuring achievement of psychotherapy competencies.Person Specification Qualifications Essential:Medical degree (MBBS) or equivalent.Fully registered with the General Medical Council.Eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register (or Specialist Registrar within 6 months of gaining CCT).Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent qualification.Approved Clinician status (MHA, 2007) or eligibility for this status.Desirable:Higher degree in a relevant area.Knowledge Essential:Clinical work in General Adult Psychiatry at ST4‑6 or Consultant level in the last three years.Knowledge of psychopharmacology.Experience in community adult psychiatry services.Excellent working knowledge and application of the Mental Health Act.Understanding of relevant social aspects of psychiatry.Desirable:Knowledge and experience of recovery‑informed service delivery and working with patients as experts by experience.Clinical Skills Essential:Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership to the team.Expertise in risk assessment and evidence‑based interventions for psychosis, mood disorders and comorbidities.Confidence in therapeutic risk taking.Commitment to clinical governance.Teaching Essential:Experience in teaching junior staff.Good teaching and communication skills.Ability to train and supervise junior medical staff and medical students or staff from other disciplines.Experience of teaching non‑medical mental health professionals.Desirable:Medical education qualification.Research Essential:Ability and willingness to teach medical students and lecture on undergraduate and MRCPsych courses.Desirable:Interest and willingness to supervise research, audit or QI projects.Published research.Personal Skills Essential:Excellent oral and written communication skills.Ability to manage complex workloads and support others to do that.Commitment to working with service users in ongoing services development.Cultural sensitivity and ability to work with a diverse population.Commitment to continuing professional development.Desirable:Management, performance and leadership courses.Physical Essential:Able to travel between sites as required.#J-18808-Ljbffr
