Randolph Hill are searching for a Domestic Assistant (BANK) for our exceptional Ashley Court Nursing Home in Morningside, Edinburgh. This post will be on a BANK (flexible basis) with working hours of either 0800 – 1430 or 0800 - 1600. Rotas are completed a number of weeks in advance and you will be picking up shifts matching your availability. There may be the opportunity to progress from a BANK contract to a permanent contract, subject to a permanent post becoming available at a future date. Our BANK team support the home by covering periods of annual leave, sickness and training days.Job PurposeTo reflect the high standards of the company by keeping the nursing home clean and safeTo make efficient use of cleaning materials and equipmentTo uphold residents’ participation strategyTo treat colleagues with respect and ensure teamwork is goodMain Duties and ResponsibilitiesTo follow housekeeping instructions as laid down by the company and as directed by the Manager/Nurse in chargeTo uphold residents’ rights to privacy, dignity and choiceTo operate tools and equipment in a safe, correct manner and display warning signs as appropriateTo report any damage to equipment, furnishings or fabric of the building as soon as possible to immediate superiorTo become familiar with and use appropriate chemicals in correct strengths as instructed in the manual and to be economical in useTo keep furniture and carpets clean and free of odoursTo maintain high standards of cleanliness to reflect the image of the companyTo dispose of waste materials and rubbish as instructedTo report any discrepancies in stock control and inform the Manager immediatelyTo report any injuries, disease or dangerous occurrences to the appropriate staff memberTo wear company uniform at all times when on dutyTo wear and use protective clothing and equipment as directed and report any damage to superiorsTo comply with all safe working policies and proceduresTo attend training and staff meetings as requested by the managerTo become familiar with fire instructions/evacuation policies and proceduresTo become familiar with company policy and procedure regarding domestic duties, sick leave and annual leaveTo read any notices displayed in the work area and to adhere to them at all timesTo undertake any reasonable duties as directed by the manager/nurse in charge to ensure safe, smooth and efficient running of the nursing homeSkills and Experience RequiredAt least 1 years experience working within a fast moving domestic or cleaning role - this could be from any environment
