A GP Partner (General Practitioner Partner) is a senior doctor within a general practice who combines clinical responsibilities with leadership and business management duties. GP Partners are both healthcare providers and co-owners of the practice, playing a central role in delivering high-quality primary care to the local community.The role of a GP Partner is multifaceted, combining expert clinical practice with leadership, entrepreneurship, and stewardship of NHS resources. We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our friendly and caring Practice as a GP Partner.We pride ourselves on being a well-established training practice providing general medical services for our practice list of 5800 patients. This is a rewarding and varied role for a GP who shares our ethos of providing patient centred care and is motivated to maintain and improve our high QOF achievement and contribute to the development of the organisational and business aspect of the Practice.We are a fully computerised Practice, using TPP SystmOne and working towards becoming paper light. We have an integrated nursing team including a Nursing team, Health Care Assistant and an efficient and supportive administration team.Job responsibilitiesThere will be a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:a. The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled populationb. The provision of services commensurate with the GP contractc. Clinically examine and assess patient needs from a physiological and psychological perspective and plan clinical care accordingly referring patients to other services/agencies in a timely manner, utilising practice and any other local guidelinesd. Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidancee. Prioritise health problems and intervene appropriately to assist the patient in complex, urgent or emergency situations, including initiation of effective emergency caref. Effective management of long-term conditionsg. Support patients to adopt health promotion strategies that promote healthy lifestyles and apply principles of self-careh. Process administration in a timely manner including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasksi. Review medications following the appropriate policies, NICE/local clinical guidelines and local care pathwaysj. Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidancek. Work collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workloadl. Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit processm. Support the delivery of anticipatory care plansn. Take responsibility for continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the organisationo. Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) or the QOFp. Attend and contribute effectively to external and internal meetings as requiredq. Contribute effectively to the development and maintenance of the organisation including clinical governance, training, financial management and HRr. Be aware of duties and responsibilities regarding current legislation and adhere to practice policies and procedures on safeguarding adults and safeguarding childrens. Ensure compliance with the appraisal processt. Prepare and complete the revalidation process to remain fit to practiceu. Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the organisations teamv. Review and adhere to practice protocols and policies at all timesw. Encourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, promoting a culture of continuous improvementx. Be an integral part of the general practice team as well as supporting the wider network and multi-disciplinary teamy. On a rotational basis, undertake telephone triage and duty doctor rolesz. Identify, implement and embed best practice through clinical guidelines and the audit processcc. Contribute to the training of medical students from all clinical disciplinesdd.
