Aureos IDEC are looking for a HSQE Advisor to work in the central belt of Scotland working on our Substation projects to support with growth.Read on to fully understand what this job requires in terms of skills and experience If you are a good match, make an application.This role is to support the provision of competent health, safety, quality (assurance) and site environmental advice. Ensuring inspections and guidance for the site staff and management team is carried out. Providing challenge where required and not walking by. Promotion of safe equipment, standards and method of working. Showing the behaviours expected and leading by example each and every time.Primary duties, responsibilities and accountabilities :Where unsafe working is identified, stop the works, agree and document suitable and safe solution and re-brief.Assisting the operational team with reviewing of CDM documentationAssurance and acceptance of process and working methods in line with RAMSTake an active role in developing, maintaining and promoting a positive HSQE cultureEnsuring compliance with Aureos standards and client requirementsUndertaking task analysis and acceptance reviews of risk assessment and method statementsProvide support and advice for staff to aid and promote sustainable practicesEnsure all requirements and findings are closed within the required timescalesPromote the closure of NCRs and Contributions within the projectsPopulate weekly regional HSQE reports for the projectsSecondary duties, responsibilities and accountabilities :Encourage quality contributions and ensure timely close out and feedback is actioned, promote lessons learnt and good practice sharing.Build and maintain effective working relationships with site teams, clients and other stakeholdersPromotion of health and wellbeing support, and directing staff where requiredPrepare and deliver workforce (including subcontractors) engagement (tool box talks, awareness sessions)Proactively improve in reducing risk through the planning processPerson Specification:Qualifications and TrainingEssential: NEBOSH Construction Level 3 Level 6 (or equivalent) IOSH Membership IEMA Practitioner member or above (or equivalent) Mental Health First Aider Driving Licence Report writing Incident investigation IT LiterateDesirable: CSCS EUSR First Aid Trained Temporary Works TWC / TWS experienceKnowledge and ExperienceEssential: Understanding of working methods within the Energy Sector Site inspections and risk assessment experience Site CDM / Principal Contractor experienceDesirable: Industrial knowledge across the infrastructure Services areas of Business Basics of management systems Reviewing CDM and industry relevant methods of working Environmental & Sustainability management systems / awarenessSkills and abilitiesEssential: Excellent listening and communication skills Positive attitude and tolerance when dealing with challenges faced Ability to use IT systems including Microsoft 365, and HSQE specific systems. Ability to manage own diary and prioritise workloadsDesirable: Excellent time management and relationship skills, comfortably working effectively within a broad range of working environments. Strong interpersonal skills able to communicate clearly to inform and influence others; uses appropriate, effective methods to deliver messages.
